Destiny Church has an established Missions program that is influencing different parts of the world. As a church we sponsor our very own missionaries Tim and Bronwyn Perry who are based in Thailand. They are changing the community through their ‘Hope Asia’ initiative. Another country we support is the Andaman Islands in India. We work with Rev. Varughese Mathew who looks after our church planters on the field. Every year the team are planting more and more churches throughout the region of the Andaman Islands. Our newest project that we are starting as a church, is again with Rev. Varughese Mathew and a social worker over in Delhi. We are starting a ‘Rescuing Children’ program that will be taking children out of the slums of India and housing them in a rescue home. We Praise God for the lives that we have touched through our missions program and hope to see many more influenced by the generosity of His church. 2009 THAILAND MISSIONS TRIP: September 3rd-18th A team of 8 young adults are heading over to Thailand for two weeks, for a short-term missions trip. The first week we will be flying into Chiang Mai, where we will be staying with the Perry Family. The Perry Family are our first family from Destiny to pack up everything and head overseas to plant themselves as missionaries in Thailand. During this week the team will be traveling up to the Hill tribes in the mountains, and minister there for a couple of days. The second half of this week will be assisting with the running of an English camp in the Hang Dong community. The team will then pack up and make their way over to Khon Kaun for the final week. We wil be working and ministering in the 'House of Mercy' orphanage. This is home to 40 children aged from 6-16, all who are infected with HIV's. This is the orphanage where 2 of our team members lived for 6 months, 2 years ago. The team will be doing various maintenance work on the orphange including painting and repairs, and general house duty work such as laundry, meal preparation and cleaning. The team will also have plenty of time to spend quality time with the kids- and cook them an Aussie style BBQ!
